At this time, United Way of Southern West Virginia will still be accepting applications for 2021 Funding beginning March 30th, 2020 at 8am.
The application will close on May 22nd, 2020 at 4pm.

We realize that many non-profit organizations, including ours, have had to cancel major fundraising events, are seeing reduced levels of contact with donors and volunteers, while also managing an increased need for our services. Due to this uncertain economic climate, the timeline of our 2021 Funding decision process (including site visits, approval/denial, and allocation) is unknown at this time. We hope that we will all be able to resume ‘business as usual’ in the near future, but if our 2020 fundraising efforts are substantially thwarted due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the fate of our 2021 Grant Cycle will need to be re-evaluated.

We will communicate closely with applicants and current agency partners as this situation continues to unfold. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy.
Thank you for your commitment to our community in this trying time.

Applicants must be non-profit and operating under a valid 501c3 for at least 2 full calendar years to be considered for funding.

United Way of Southern West Virginia DOES NOT FUND: recreational or youth sports leagues, sports complexes, parks and recreation, libraries, foundations, animal services, capital improvements, religious organizations or governmental entities.

Please note that there is only one grant application this year; we are no longer categorizing programs as Safety Net or Community Impact programs.

All questions regarding CommunityForce or the grant process as a whole should be directed to Christina Cowley, Community Impact Coordinator, via e-mail at ccowley@unitedwayswv.org
